She is the daughter of Berny and Gayle Smith who owned Gayle’s Just Pretty Clothes for 31 years. Betsy was 2 when her parents opened the first of 7 locations in Houston, Texas. She was raised in retailing and accompanied her parents on market trips and the day to day operations. After college, Betsy began her career with Gayle’s in sales and later working her way to Buyer and Store Manager. In December of 2007 Gayle decided to retire after 50 years in retail and Betsy decided not to continue with Gayle’s.

Betsy launched ShoppeGirl.com for the love of the business and for her customers. She is quick to differentiate between her mother’s looks, very specific about not being afraid to mix and match the wardrobe. Betsy has an eye for fashion and can dress clients specific to their physical proportions. With Betsy’s expertise, she continues to offer her services by appointment.
